About The Player
Paul “Arcpulse” Lazarra is the volunteer Mental Health Coach for Triton Esports at the University of Guam. He has been playing Super Smash Bros. since its first release back in 1999 and has more than 10 years of experience competing in the Guam Fighting Game Community (GUFGC)’s local tournaments and events.
Initially, Lazarra primarily focused on playing the game with friends and family. However, as newer versions of Super Smash Bros. Sequels released, he joined the competitive season and was at one point, within the top 10 of the Super Smash Bros. Melee local rankings ladder. With the release of Super Smash Bros., for the Wii U and 3ds, Lazarra became a tournament organizer in 2015 for the GUFGC. Although Lazarra does not play competitively with the most current version of Super Smash Bros, he assists with Guam Department of Education Esports Varsity League, Latte Esports League, and other video game-related competitions.
With a Masters’ Degree in Counseling from the University of Guam, Lazarra works as School Counselor for the Guam Department of Education. Combining his expertise in esports and psychology, Lazarra also joins Triton Esports as Interim Team Counselor. He places high emphasis on the well-being and mental health of others. With the rise of Esports on Guam, we aim to create a competitive atmosphere that helps mold disciplined and novel citizens of our society.
